Report: 2 alleged accomplices charged after man shot to death in Kissimmee home invasion

A man found dead inside a Kissimmee home on Jessa Drive last month had been trying to pull off a home invasion when a woman inside shot him in the face, investigators said.

Two other men suspected in the home invasion are now facing murder charges, according to a new arrest report.

The report revealed the shooter already had her gun out when the suspect entered her home.

It said a man knocked on the door twice and the first time, he asked for someone named Gladys; the woman told him no one by that names lived there.

When the man came back and knocked again, she had her gun.

She told detectives when the suspect forced his way in, she opened fire.

When officers arrived, they said a woman ran from the home screaming.

"It's scary because I've been here like 15 years and I never seen something like that,” said resident Marvin Antuna.

Antuna lives behind the home and said he had seen Jorge Velez walking past his house moments before shots were fired.

The next day, he learned Velez had been shot to death in the home.

New reports show Velez approached the home once as if he had the wrong address.

When he came inside, the resident screamed and shot once, hitting the door with the first bullet, according to the report.

Velez walked toward her and she shot again, striking Velez in the face, the report said.

Investigators believe another masked man, Anthony James ran in, grabbed Velez's gun and took off--the getaway driver was Wanyae Richardson, according to investigators.

The two are documented gang members of the “Sex Money Murder” gang which is associated with the “Blood” gang, according to the report.

They are both facing second-degree murder charges because detectives believe they were involved in the home invasion when Velez was shot to death.

There is a family connection in the incident; the daughter of the man killed used to be a roommate of someone else living in the home.

Investigators found marijuana-growing equipment in the home.

The resident is not facing charges.
