Riders evacuated from Disney World's Splash Mountain

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Splash Mountain ride at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom was evacuated Monday after a leaf fell on top of a sensor, Disney officials said.

When the leaf fell on the sensor that control the safety mechanism, it forced the ride to stop.

A Disney spokesperson said nobody was injured and all guests were removed from the ride.

Workers are rebooting the system that operates the ride.

The spokesperson said the safety measures did what they were supposed to and operations are back to normal.
