SANFORD, Fla. — The Sanford Police Department said it's searching for an 18-year-old mother who has been missing since July.
Police said that Kya Jacobs was last seen by family members on July 24 walking in the Sanford area, carrying a book bag.
Officers said Jacobs left her car in Geneva to be repaired, but never picked it up from the shop.
They said her identification was found at a gas station's lost and found box, where it had been since late August or early September.
Police said Jacobs has a history of drug use. They said she has a child, who she has not seen or attempted to contact since before July.
Investigators said that while Jacobs left of her own free will in July, the lack of contact or communication since then has caused the family to be concerned about her well-being.
Anyone with information on Jacobs' whereabouts is asked to contact Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.
