Sanford police investigate 2 drive-by shootings blocks apart

SANFORD, Fla. — Police said they were investigating a drive-by shooting in Sanford Tuesday.

Officers said someone inside a dark Honda opened fire outside a home on 25th Street.

One man was hit on the shoulder and was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in stable condition, police said.

A short time later, police said they received notice of another shooting a few blocks away.

No one was hit at the second location.

Police would not release a motive for the shootings, but the city has had an ongoing problem with gun violence in recent weeks.
