Search continues for gunman in death of woman killed by stray bullet

Detectives are still working to find out who fired the gun Wednesday that sent a stray bullet into a woman's kitchen, killing her while she cooked for her family.
Orange County deputies believe the shots came from an adjacent wooded area, but they said it will be a difficult case to solve.
A fence separates the wooded area from the Downey Hill mobile home park near Dean Road.
There’s a “no trespassing” warning, but the fence is broken and there are signs that people come and go into the woods.
Her son said she was struck by the bullet while she was cooking food.
“I was taking a shower and I hear, like, a firework noise,” said Hernan Vazquez.
Residents in the neighborhood said it sounded like too many rounds at once to be a target practice.
Detectives has K-9s canvass the area but they did not find the shooter.
“We need the community to help us if they know what happened,” said Deputy Indrid Tejada-Monforte.
Deputies believe someone fired carelessly from the woods.
“The family needs closure. We need to know exactly what occurred,” said Tejada-Monforte.
Two doors down from Martinez’s home, a woman’s bedroom was pierced with a bullet where a toddler sleeps.
Another round went into her kitchen.
Neighbors fear it wasn’t a case of sloppy target practice.
Deputies have worked drug busts in the area before and residents closest to the woods worry a drug deal became deadly.
There is a $5,000 Crimeline reward for anyone who can help detectives solve the case.
