Search on for man accused of drugging, raping 15-year-old girl in Marion County

MARION COUNTY, Fla. — The search is on for a man accused of drugging and raping a 15-year-old girl, and deputies believe there could be other victims.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Robert Morris Jones, also known as “G-Man,” Marion County deputies said.

Deputies said on Thursday that he’s wanted for sexual battery involving a 15-year-old girl.

Deputies said on Nov. 9, 2016, Jones provided drugs to a teen and forced her to have sex with him.

Witnesses told investigators they’ve seen Jones give drugs to other juveniles.

“It angers me that somebody would do that to a child,” said Ocala resident Kathy Kent. "I have a daughter that's 17 and I just can't fathom him doing that. That is ludicrous."

Deputies said throughout the investigation, they spoke with witnesses who gave them information that makes them believe there could be more victims.

“It is extremely important that we get this individual in custody. We believe that he has given drugs to other juveniles,” said Lauren Lettelier of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said Jones’ nickname, which most people only knew him by, made it difficult to identify him and get an arrest warrant.

Jones’ criminal record dates back to 1991 and includes seven arrests and several convictions and drug and traffic charges.

Records show deputies last arrested Jones on a traffic charge in November, a little more than a week after they said he raped the 15-year-old girl.

“I hope they catch him real soon,” said Kent.
