Search on for Winter Park car thieves

WINTER PARK, Fla. — Winter Park police are searching for two thieves who smashed their way into a luxury car dealership.

The dealership is on Fairbanks Avenue near Interstate 4, which made for an easy getaway route.

The thieves didn't appear to be after the most expensive cars.

Mercedes Benzes, BMWs and Jaguars went untouched.

"Grabbing what they were told to get, that's what I believe was happening," said Eric Laubach of Luxury Cars and Financial.

The three cars they took were a 2005 Volkswagen Touareg, a 2011 Hyundai Sonata and a 2010 Mitsubishi Galant.

The three together are worth $45,000 according to the dealership.

"They were picking certain vehicles. So they were probably filling orders for certain vehicles that they want to steal the electronics out of," said Laubach.

The car thieves broke into the dealership twice.

Both times they used a rock to break open a window at the dealership.

Once the window was open, they reached inside and unlocked the door to grab the key board.

What they didn't realize was that they were being watched by four cameras.

"It is an easy getaway, smash and dash," said Laubach.

None of the three cars had license plates, according to the dealership.
