Seminole County crash leaves one dead

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a Seminole County crash that left one person dead Monday night.

The crash happened on Dodd Road near Saint Lucie Drive in Winter Springs around 10 p.m.

According to fire rescue officials, the crash involved a vehicle that struck a tree. One unidentified person was killed, officials said.

Troopers shut down the roadway following the crash and drivers should avoid the area.
