Serial Publix armed robbers sentenced in Orlando federal court

ORLANDO, Fla. — A pair of men who committed armed robbery at several Publix supermarkets in Orange and Volusia counties have been sentenced to prison.

Cecil Dante Buckner, 36, and Jarmen Lindell Sharp, 34, were sentenced Tuesday in Orlando federal court.

The two went on a three-month armed robbery spree in 2014, hitting Publix stores in Winter Park, Orlando and DeLand, court records show.

Buckner was also responsible for the May 4 armed robbery of a Plant City Publix, investigators said.

During the robberies, Buckner and an unnamed accomplice would go into the store while Sharp acted as a lookout.

In the robberies committed by Buckner and Sharp, they were able to get away with more than $24,000.

In the robbery committed by Buckner in May, he made off with $18,000, officials said.

Buckner was sentenced to 34 years in prison for his role in the robberies while Sharp was sentenced to 13 years.
