Service restored for AT&T customers in DeLand, deputies say

DELAND, Fla. — Update: Service was restored Thursday afternoon.

Previous story:

AT&T cellphone customers in DeLand won’t be able to call 911, Volusia County deputies said.

A spokesperson said Tuesday that the issue is a service interruption involving AT&T.

Deputies said customers should use a different cellphone carrier or a landline phone if they need to make a 911 call.

The outage reportedly affects users within an approximately 1.5 mile radius of a tower in the
DeLand area. Service should be unaffected for AT&T users in all other areas.

WFTV will be following this story and will send out an update when service has been restored.
