All lanes reopen after pair of I-4 wrecks near downtown Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. — A pair of serious wrecks only about three miles apart on Interstate 4 caused massive traffic backups for commuters Friday morning.

The first wreck happened at about 5:17 a.m. on westbound I-4 at the Par Street exit in Orlando.

The crash involved a semi-trailer and caused the highway to be completely shut down.

The second crash happened at about 6:08 a.m. on eastbound I-4 at Colonial Drive.

The wreck also caused a complete roadway closure.

All I-4 lanes have since reopened.
