SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. —

Deputies said an 18-year-old man put innocent lives in danger when he allegedly pulled out a shotgun and fired at another driver during a road rage incident in Seminole County.

Deputies said Paul Young opened fire just before 4 p.m. at the intersection of International Parkway and Lake Mary Boulevard. It's a busy area and several drivers who watched the incident unfold called 911.

"Yeah, I just witnessed a shooting," one 911 caller said.

"There's some kind of road rage thing going on here in Lake Mary," another called said.

According to the police report, the victim told police it all started at the intersection of Markham Woods and Lake Mary Boulevard when he and another driver tried to change into the same lane.

"I was following behind them and I think it happened because the truck swerved into their lane," one of the 911 callers said.

"The one driver avoided the crash and became irate and followed the other driver," said Kristen Bentsen of the Seminole County Sheriff's Office.

When both vehicles got to the traffic light at International Parkway, witnesses told police Young was one of two men who got out of a sedan and walked toward the pickup truck.

Witnesses said Young pulled a 12-gauge shotgun out of his trunk and fired one shot into the truck's passenger side door.

The victim told police as soon as the gun went off he quickly made a left and sped into the parking lot of a realty office and called 911.

The Sheriff's Office said at least six other people did the same thing.

The car Young was riding in was located at a nearby Walgreens.

Young was taken into custody and bonded out on Monday.
