Pilot severely injured in small plane crash at Ocala International Airport

OCALA, Fla. — Emergency officials were called to the Ocala International Airport after a small plane crashed on Friday.

Officials said the pilot was the only one on the plane, and was flown to UF Health.

She suffered second and third-degree burns over 25 to 30 percent of her body, authorities said.

The Federal Aviation Commission will be at the airport Saturday to continue the investigation.

There's no word on what caused the crash and officials have not released the pilot's name.
