Social media account showing nude pictures of young girls may have Brevard connection

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A social media account that may have been created in Brevard County has caught the attention of the Sheriff’s Office after nude pictures of young girls were posted.

Investigators are looking for possible underage victims.

Deputies found out about the profiles because they got several calls from residents complaining about what they were seeing.

“I was really outraged. They're are young girls. I have family members the same age,” said resident Whitney Broy.

Broy was scrolling through Instagram when she started to see girls she used to babysit in Brevard County all grown up and in shocking photos and poses.

“I said, ‘Oh my gosh I need to contact her and let know,’” Broy said.

Officials said that several networking sites contain images of suspected child pornography and the people in the photos had no idea they were online.

“The person we are looking for is the person that’s behind the profile and actively soliciting for these photos,” said Tod Goodyear with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

The photos weren’t just on Instagram, but on other social media profiles as well.

“Some of the sites that we are looking into are active, however, the images or information seen right now is clean,” Goodyear said.

It’s too early in the investigation to know how many victims are out there, or how many people are creating the profiles, or what their charges will be.
