St. Cloud man accused of injuring 6-month-old daughter

ST. CLOUD, Fla. — Police in St. Cloud said a man has been arrested and is accused of seriously injuring his young daughter.

The investigation started when the 6-month-old girl was taken to a hospital by her mother after she noticed a bruise, police said. According to investigators, it was discovered that the baby had a broken femur, a large bruise on her chest, possibly broken ribs and a head injury.

After further investigation, police said they arrested the baby's father, 24-year-old Chadd Spicer, and charged him with aggravated child abuse causing great bodily harm and child neglect. Spicer confessed to injuring his daughter while being questioned, investigators said.

Police did not release any further details about the case, except that there's a history of domestic violence between Spicer and the baby's mother.

The baby is recovering from her injuries, officials said.

The Department of Children and Families is also investigating the case. Spicer is being held on no bond at the Osceola County Jail.
