ST. CLOUD, Fla. - A St. Cloud police officer was arrested and charged with domestic violence.

Officer Michael Baggett, 36, was placed on administrative leave pending a criminal and internal investigation.

He was served with a domestic violence injunction around 5 p.m. Friday and was arrested early Saturday morning.

WFTV learned the allegations stemmed from accusations of an affair.

Baggett and his wife reportedly got into a heated argument because his wife suspected Baggett of cheating.

“She’s a wreck, she was humiliated, the same as I was. Hurt and shocked; just very distraught,” said Edeania Nettles, a former Osceola County deputy.

Edeania Nettles was fired from the force and is on probation.

She’s accused of beating up St. Cloud police Officer Jennifer Hoyus after she found out about Hoyus allegedly had an affair with her husband, John Nettles.

“I reached out to Mrs. Baggett because I know what she is going through. The same woman, Jennifer Hoyus, was having an affair with my husband,” Edeania Nettles said. “I lost my job, I lost everything. Right now I’m on probation.”

John Nettles was later arrested after Hoyus claimed he was stalking her.

Edeania Nettles said when she learned of the affair she went to the St. Cloud Police Department for help, but they told her there was nothing they could do because it was a civil matter.

WFTV learned that Hoyus is on paid leave while she’s under investigation for inappropriate and excessive phone calls and text messages while on duty.

Baggett has been employed with the department since 2011.

He is being held in the Osceola County Jail without bond.
