St. Cloud police say son killed father, self

ST. CLOUD, Fla. — The deaths of a father and son in St. Cloud are the result of a murder-suicide, police said Tuesday.

The bodies of Vincent Vaughan, 51, and his son Tyler Vaughan, 20, were discovered inside their yellow, one-story home on 15th Street Monday morning.

According to police, both men had been  shot.

In a press release, police listed the father as the victim in the case and his son as the suspect.

An investigation by police, along with an autopsy conducted Tuesday morning by the Orange County Medical Examiner's Office, confirmed that both died as a result of a murder-suicide.

Tyler Vaughan graduated from St. Cloud High School in 2010, where he played linebacker on the football team.

Vincent Vaughan worked on the custodial staff at Michigan Avenue Elementary. His co-workers called police Monday morning, surprised that he didn't show up for work.
