MELBOURNE, Fla. — A police standoff with a man in Melbourne prompted authorities to shut down a road Friday.
The west lanes of Croton Road were closed off due to a “barricaded subject,” Melbourne police said in a tweet.
Police later had to shut down east Wickham Road at Eau Gallie Boulevard.
Drivers were asked to steer clear of Eau Gallie Boulevard and Holland Street.
Residents in the area were told to stay inside their homes as police try to communicate with the suspect, whom they believe is armed.
