DELAND, Fla. - Stetson University officials have found a solution for an on-campus housing shortage.
The housing shortage is due to increasing enrollment at Stetson. The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports the central Florida university will have 870 new freshmen this fall, with a total undergraduate enrollment of 2,700. That's up from 2,500 last year.
Stetson crews made minor modifications to the hotel rooms. They added a dresser in each room and converted two suites into lounges. They'll run a free shuttle from the hotel to the campus, which is about two miles away.
