Stolen car sends deputies on high-speed chase

PALM COAST, Fla. — Flagler County deputies arrested two people they said led them on a high-speed chase through two counties Sunday morning.

Deputies said Dyson Anthony Graham, 24, and his passenger, a 16-year-old girl who was reported missing out of Hillsborough County, were caught after the chase ended with a crash in Palm Coast.

St. John’s County deputies contacted Flagler County deputies and told them they were chasing a black 2009 Toyota Corolla.

The car was reported stolen during an armed carjacking outside the Florida Mall in Orlando Wednesday night.

Deputies said Graham exceeded 100 mph during the chase.

The car entered Flagler County just before 4 a.m. and got off at the Palm Coast Parkway exit where Flagler deputies had already set up stop-sticks.

They said Graham tried to get back on the interstate to avoid the stop-sticks, lost control of the car and hit three palm trees before the car stopped on the southbound entrance ramp.

Graham allegedly ran out of the car and left the 16-year-old passenger behind.

A sheriff’s office's K-9 found Graham in the wooded area, underneath a dumpster and bit him in the hand.

Graham was charged with possession of stolen property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, carrying a concealed firearm and resisting arrest without violence.

The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office may file additional charges.

The 16-year-old was taken into custody and will be charged with possession of stolen property.
