SunRail tickets, SunCards go on sale

ORLANDO, Fla. — SunRail tickets and SunCard passes are now on sale to the public, the Florida Department of Transportation said Sunday.

For its first two weeks, riding SunRail is free to all customers. But starting May 19, riders will be required to have a ticket or a SunCard.

Daily or round-trip tickets can be purchased at vending machines at all of the SunRail stations.

SunCards, which are reloadable passes and can be used weekly, monthly or yearly, are available online on SunRail's website as well as at the stations. There's a one-time $5 fee for SunCards.

According to FDOT officials, there have been more than 75,000 boardings since SunRail debuted on May 1.
