Surveillance video captures man robbing Eustis internet café, police say

Eustis police are hoping surveillance video will help them track down a man who they said robbed an internet café at gunpoint.

Detectives said they have received a number of credible tips about the identity of the man since the robbery Saturday night.

The video shows the man walking into the Cyberlinke Internet Café on South Bay Street and talking to the store clerk. After a short conversation, the man pulled a gun out of his pants and held it over the counter.

Police said the man demanded money and walked out.

Eddie Olivra said he goes to the café every other day with his wife, and news of the robbery caught him off guard.

“I’m a bit surprised because most of the people that come in are family,” said Olivra. “It has to be someone from the outside that never really comes in to play or anything like that.”

The business is less than a mile from the police station.

“They’re going to steal from someone, they’re taking those chances,” said Olivra. “I don’t suppose they stayed there too long anyway.”
