Marion County deputies have arrested a 19-year-old they said shot and killed a man.
Deputies said Kasaan Patterson, 19, was arguing with the victim, Jeffrey Todd Aaron, early Wednesday.
Patterson is the boyfriend of Aaron’s cousin.
Deputies responded to the area of Willow Road in Silver Springs Shores where they found an abandoned vehicle and evidence someone had been shot.
They said Aaron was shot a short distance away from that scene in a drive way on Pine Course Loop.
A woman called 911, saying she was driving Aaron to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The woman told detectives she saw Patterson and Aaron arguing and then heard gunshots.
A nearby resident had surveillance cameras outside their home that captured the shooting, which led to Patterson’s arrest.
Deputies said Patterson is also known to drive the vehicle they found abandoned in the area.
Patterson is being held in the Marion County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
