Surveillance video shows brazen gun store burglary

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies said Monday that as many as 10 rifles and shotguns were stolen from That Gun Shop on Alameda De Sur, near U.S. Highway 441 in Mount Dora.

The break-in happened this past weekend.

Surveillance video of the burglary was released Tuesday.

“Four suspects used a car to crash through the front (of the store),” the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said.

Just last week, law enforcement agencies across Central Florida held their annual Kicks for Guns event, during which people could turn in guns with no questions asked and received a gift card in return.

Deputies said it’s frustrating to know that as soon as they get guns off the streets, other guns wind up back out in the wrong hands.

Detectives are reviewing the store’s surveillance video in hopes it will lead them to the thieves.
