Suspect in Crystal Lake Drive shooting, crash arrested

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The suspect in a shooting that took place in a moving car was arrested Wednesday, according to Orlando police.

Police said Chavez Devon Williams is charged with attempted second-degree murder.

On the night of July 15 a car crashed into a wall under the State Road 408 bridge over Crystal Lake Drive.

Police said a witness saw the driver of the car pull Juan Lopez Martinez from the vehicle and then run from the scene.

According to police, Martinez suffered several gunshot wounds but was conscious and able to speak with them as he was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Police said Martinez was shot while the car was moving.

Williams was booked into the Orange County Jail.
