Suspects in Lowe's armed robbery arrested after witness follows them, calls 911

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Two armed robbery suspects are in custody, accused of stealing from an East Orlando Lowe's on Thursday and injuring an employee.

Officials said the incident was reported Thursday morning at the store at Alafaya Trail and Lake Underhill.

A customer at the store told Channel 9 that he saw employees struggling to stop a man and a woman from leaving the store.

"The female was yelling and she was carrying, like, a large purse and they were all trying to stop them, and they couldn't stop them, and she bit one of the employees real bad on the upper forearm," customer Timothy Bull said.

Bull said the suspects ran out of the store and jumped into a car.

"There's a paper tag on the Volvo and he rips it off so we couldn't get the tag number. and they just took off on Alafaya Trail," Bull said.

Bull said he followed the suspects slowly so he wouldn't draw attention and called 911.

"(After) about 10 miles, all these cops come up from behind me. They just surrounded him (and) took him down," Bull said.

He said 911 dispatchers advised him not to follow the suspects, but he said he made sure to be careful.

"I wouldn't think twice about it. (I) was at a safe distance, so I never felt threatened. I just wanted them apprehended," Bull said.

Deputies said they are still working out charges against the suspects. Their names have not yet been released.
