Suspicious envelope investigated at Marion County Sheriff's Department

MARION COUNTY, Fla. — Another envelope containing a white, powdery substance is being investigated in Marion County. This time it's at the Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's officials said the envelope arrived Wednesday morning.

The Marion County Fire Department's hazmat team is investigating the envelope.

On Tuesday investigators were kept busy when 10 envelopes with a white, powdery substance inside were reported at schools and businesses in Ocala and Marion County.

Investigators said an envelope at Lake Weir High School contained a sweetener.

Seven of the suspicious envelopes are being investigated by the FBI, investigators said.
