Suspicious suitcase left in parking lot causes evacuations at The Loop in Kissimmee

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — The Kissimmee Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious suitcase that had been left in the parking lot of The Loop Monday afternoon.

The suitcase’s discovery was reported at about 3:30 p.m.

Many stores at the shopping complex were evacuated due to the suspicious suitcase, the parking lot was closed and pedestrian traffic was not being allowed in the area, officers said.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office bomb squad responded to the scene to assist the KPD.

The scene was later cleared after investigators determined the suitcase was not dangerous.
