Tanker crew member rescued near Key West after suffering head injury, Coast Guard says

MIAMI, Fla. — A 34-year-old crew member aboard the tanker Huemel was rescued Sunday after he fell and suffered head and shoulder injuries, the U.S. Coast Guard said.

The Huemel was located 145 miles southwest of Key West.

A Coast Guard Air Station Miami MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew hoisted the man and transported him to Air Station Miami, where EMS personnel were waiting, officials said.

Neither the crewman’s name nor condition has been released.
