Teen couple accused in shooting death of 15-year-old

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A 17-year-old and his girlfriend were arrested Friday in connection with the Sunday shooting death of Antwan Davis, 15, in Ocoee, Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said.

Michael Anderson was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in Davis’ death. Anderson's girlfriend, Lindsey Shirley, 18, was arrested Friday and charged with tampering with evidence and accessory after the fact. Shirley has since bonded out of the Orange County Jail.

Anderson is accused of shooting Davis in the head on North Lakewood Avenue in Ocoee Sunday morning, investigators said.

Shirley led deputies to Anderson Friday morning, Demings said.

The 17-year-old suspect was found hiding in the woods in the area of Pedmont Wekiva Road and North Orange Blossom Trail, he said.

Anderson has a history with law enforcement.

The teen was arrested in January on a charge of aggravated battery, Orange County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Michael Ruggerio said.

“So, he does have some arrests, priors,” he said.

Records said Anderson has been arrested at least a six times since last year, with many of those arrests carrying felony charges.

A court put him under community supervision, which means he wasn’t supposed to be outside unless he was at school or work, until he turned 19.

Demings hoped the arrests would bring some solace to Davis’ family.

“We know this won’t bring Antwan back, but we hope this news will bring a measure of comfort to his family as they prepare for his funeral,” he said.
