Police ID teen found slain in Kissimmee

KISSIMMEE, Fla. —

Police detectives are investigating a shooting that happened early Wednesday morning in Kissimmee.

The shooting happened about 6 a.m. in the area of North Central Avenue, authorities said.

Investigators said the victim, 17-year-old David Guerrero, was on his way to work when he was gunned down near the Kissimmee Surgical Center.

A witness in the parking lot of the Kissimmee Surgical Center witnessed the shooting and called for help. The boy was still alive and moaning for help.

He was taken to a local hospital, where he died.

Authorities said it's the latest in a spate of shootings since Tuesday.

In the last two days eight homes have been shot up.

The four scenes are 2 miles apart, but investigators can't say if they're connected.

Nearby residents told Channel 9 were police were knocking on doors, asking for information from anyone who might have heard or saw something.

No arrests have been made.
