Teen suffers minor injuries when plane flips

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A 17-year-old walked away with minor injuries after her plane crashed at Valkaria Airport in Brevard County Wednesday.

Channel 9's Melonie Holt learned that the young woman was practicing takeoff and landings at the airport when she reported engine trouble.

Holt was told that the woman's plane went off the end of the runway, hit a fence and flipped.

The flight originated from Melbourne.

The Federal Aviation Authority and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash.
