Three injured in I-95 crash in Volusia County

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Troopers said three people were injured in a crash on I-95 in Volusia County early Sunday morning.

The crash, which happened around 3:45 a.m., prompted the closure of the northbound lanes of I-95 in the Oak Hill area.

According to FHP, a semi truck that was carrying mail overturned in the northbound lanes. Troopers said shortly after the initial crash, an oncoming SUV slammed into the semi truck.

The driver of the semi truck and two occupants of the SUV were injured and taken to a nearby hospital. Their injuries are non-life threatening, troopers said.

The crash caused a minor fuel spill that had to be cleaned up. All of the northbound lanes were reopened around 8 a.m.
