Three people accused of stealing Polk County school bus

POLK COUNTY, Fla. — Two men have been arrested and a woman is on the run after Polk County deputies said they stole a Polk County school bus.

Deputies said the trio took the school bus sometime between 11:45 p.m. and 5:15 a.m. Oct. 12 – 13. The bus was parked in a vacant lot behind the Fat Boys BBQ restaurant on Highway 630 in Lake Wales.

Surveillance video appeared to show the three in the school bus sitting, walking around and trying to remove the bus surveillance camera.

A Polk County School Board bus driver noticed her bus was missing when she went to the lot to start her student pick-up route.

The bus was driven to Avon Park in Highlands County, deputies said. The bus was later returned to Polk County.

The Polk County and Highlands County Sheriff’s Offices worked together to arrest Jayson Kalinowski, 33, of Lake Placid, and David Keen, 31, of Sebring. Deputies are still searching for Kim Loeb, 36, of Sebring.
