Thursday’s coronavirus updates: Over 12,000 new cases, 163 new deaths reported in Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida reported more than 12,873 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday. 2,670 of those cases are in Central Florida.

According to the state Department of Health, there have been 1,613,884 total cases of the virus reported in Florida.

On Thursday, the state also reported an additional 163 virus-related deaths, including 50 in Central Florida.

The state’s total death toll for both residents and non-residents is 25,128.

The state Department of Health also reports that 1,183,012 people have been vaccinated for COVID-19 in Florida, an increase of 35,444 since Wednesday.
