ORLANDO, Fla. - The WFTV parking lot was packed Saturday as dozens of people dropped off Toys for Tots donations at the Santa Saturday event.
Marines spent hours collecting toys from donors who stopped by the station Saturday morning. The event also featured children's activities, food, holiday performances and appearances by WFTV's anchors and reporters.
Hundreds of supporters have donated toys to the Toys for Tots campaign in hopes of making Christmas special for children in need.
"Some of our trucks that have already left here will get sorted and (the toys) will be in somebody's home later tonight," Marine Gunnery Sgt. Chris Hoagland said.
Santa Saturday kicked off at 9 a.m. and was held until 2 p.m. at the WFTV studios.
