Road back open after train strikes man in Kissimmee

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Police said a pedestrian was hit by a CSX train on East Vine Street in Kissimmee around 3 p.m. Wednesday.

The man, who police said is in his late teens or early twenties, was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition.

Police said the victim may have been wearing headphones when he was hit.

The train blocked U.S. Highway 192 and CSX moved the train a few hours after the accident.

Vine Street was closed in both directions between Main Street and Michigan Avenue., which created heavy traffic delays.
