Tram crashes at Daytona International Speedway

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Emergency crews responded Wednesday to the Daytona International Speedway after reports a tram crashed at the speedway, according to Volusia County dispatchers.

The crash was reported around 10:30 a.m. Volusia County dispatchers said 30 people were on the tram and that 12 of them reported minor injuries when the tram hit a post while it was coming out of a tunnel. No one was transported to the hospital, according to Daytona Beach Fire , which was at the scene at the speedway.

The tram has benches, but not seatbelts.

"One cut his hand pretty bad. When it hit, you flew. It hit pretty hard," said passenger William Abbs.
