Trash man accused of stalking 12-year-old girl

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A Palm Bay man is facing an aggravated stalking charge after police said he tried to make a date with a 12-year-old girl.

At the time, Junior Reid, 31, was driving a waste management truck through the girl's neighborhood, police said.

The girl was walking to John F. Turner Elementary school Thursday morning.

Investigators said the girl was approached repeatedly, as she walked along Coconut Street.

The girl told police Reid asked her age, address and who she was dating. The girl said when she told the man she was 12, he didn’t believe her.

According to police, Reid circled back, stopped and gave the girl his number. Reid told the girl he would be at her house around 5 or 6 o’clock, police said.

The girl reported the incident to school officials.

While the criminal case is under investigation, Eyewitness News has learned Reid has been suspended from his job at Waste Management.
