Pretrial hearing date set for teen accused of shooting boy at school

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — An Orange County student is accused of shooting one of his classmates. On Wednesday his attorney was in court for a hearing.

Investigators said 17-year old J'Morian Bell shot 15-year-old Ja'Rodrick Smith three times on the campus of West Orange High School in December.

The pretrial hearing lasted only a few minutes.

Both the prosecution and defense requested more time to pour over new evidence in the case.

The judge agreed and set another pretrial hearing for September 17.

The bullets hit Smith in the face, arm and stomach. Another bullet remains lodged in the 15-year-old's body.

Authorities said Bell remains in the Orange County Jail on a slew of felony charges, including attempted murder.
