Troopers: Hit-and-run driver kills two pedestrians in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. - Florida Highway Patrol troopers said two women, aged 77 and 82, were killed by a hit-and-run driver Friday night.

Landstar Boulevard was shut down south of Town Center Boulevard in south Orange County while troopers investigated the accident.

Troopers are looking for the vehicle involved, which they described as an older model white Honda with a spoiler on the back and blue halogen headlights. Troopers said the car should have extensive damage.

"We heard a collision, and as soon as we heard the collision we saw a white Honda Accord hit the people, slow down and kept going," said one man who witnessed the accident.

The accident happened just before 8 p.m. as the two women were crossing Landstar near Island Cove Drive, according to FHP.

Late Friday night FHP identified the victims as Morelia Arias, 77, of Orlando, and Gerardina Lopez, 82, of Columbia.
