Troopers: Man dies after being hit by SUV, run over by car near Kissimmee

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — A 38-year-old man died early Sunday after being hit by an SUV and then run over by a car in Osceola County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Yoel Santana Zorrilla, of Orlando, was walking in a northbound lane of North Orange Blossom Trail at Court Street shortly before 2:45 a.m. when he was struck by a Nissan SUV driven by Kamiron Singletary, 29, of Cocoa, Sgt. Kim Montes said.

Troopers said Singletary then swerved into the southbound lanes of North Orange Blossom Trail.

To avoid colliding with Singletary's oncoming vehicle, Dejoun Fisher, 24, of Kissimmee, swerved his BMW 328i into the northbound lanes of the road, investigators said.

Fisher then ran over Zorrilla, who was lying in the roadway, Montes said. Zorilla died at the crash scene.

Singletary and Fisher weren't injured in the collision.

The crash continues to be investigated.

No other details were given.
