MIAMI - Tropical Depresssion Gabrielle continues to weaken as it brings heavy rains to Puerto Rico and nearby islands.
The National Hurricane Center in Miami downgraded the storm to a tropical depression Thursday.
Thursday evening the storm was located about 30 miles south-southwest of Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.
Gabrielle's maximum sustained winds were 30 mph and it is moving to the northwest at 9 mph.
All Tropical storm warnings and watches have been discontinued.
The storm is expected to continue to bring heavy rains to parts of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Forecasters expect Gabrielle to continue to weaken and anticipate it to dissipate sometime late Thursday or Friday.
