Turnpike Ramps to I-4 Closed Overnight April 27-May 2
~ Tandem Truck Staging Lot Unavailable April 28-29 ~
Orlando--Ramp reconstruction work is scheduled that will affect both the Turnpike ramps to Interstate 4 and tandem trailer access to the Turnpike I-4 Truck Staging Lot, Exit 259, between 1-5 a.m., Sunday, April 27 to Friday, May 2.
The Exit 259 ramps from the Turnpike, both north- and southbound, will be closed and all exiting traffic detoured to Exit 255 (Consulate Drive) for SunPass customers or Exit 254 (Orlando South/US 17-92/441) for cash customers to reach I-4 via the westbound Beachline Expressway (SR 528).
Motorists traveling from I-4 to the Turnpike are not affected.
Motorists traveling westbound on I-4 will experience periodic delays overnight at the Turnpike entrance ramp, Exit 77 between 1 and 5 a.m., nightly, on the same dates.
This closure is necessary to install the new overhead truss sign along the ramp connector road and remove the existing overhead truss sign.
For tandem trailer commercial carriers exiting the Turnpike to I-4, access to the tandem staging area will be affected as follows:
The tandem trailer lot will be closed overnight, 1-5 a.m., Monday, April 28 and Tuesday, April 29.
Access will remain open until 1 a.m. each morning
During active ramp closures, tandems will not be able to exit the Turnpike to access the lot. (No left-in/left-out to- and from the staging area will be possible.)
Access to the truck staging lot will remain open from I-4 for single trailers. (Only right-in/right-out movements are possible.)
Access to the Turnpike from the truck staging lot will remain open for both tandems and single trailers.
