UCF student injured during confrontation with robber at off-campus housing complex

ORLANDO, Fla. — University of Central Florida police said they responded to an armed home invasion at an off-campus affiliated housing complex on Knights Circle.

Early Friday morning, a man armed with a gun forced his way into the victim's apartment and robbed him, police said.

The victim, a UCF student, is being treated for a head wound. He is conscious, alert and speaking with detectives. Police said the victim does not appear to know the robber.

The robber was described as a black man, measuring about 5 feet 11 inches tall, dreadlocks and wearing baggy gray shorts and a black shirt. Police said the robber took off with another man with a shaved head in a red or dark-colored sedan that may have been or was similar to a Volkswagen Jetta.

Any information about the crime should be reported to UCF police at 407-823-5555.
