Fans rally at UCF watch party for season opener in Ireland

ORLANDO, Fla. — University of Central Florida fans didn’t let the early morning hours stop them from cheering on the Knights during the team’s season opener against Penn State in Ireland Saturday.

Students decked out in black and gold gathered outside the CFE Arena on campus to watch the game.

Kickoff was at 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time, since the Knights played in Dublin.

Even though UCF lost, fans said they were still proud of the team’s performance.

The Knights were close to a win, but lost the game when the Nittany Lions were able to kick a field goal in the last seconds of the game.
