FLAGLER BEACH, Fla. — Beachgoers in Flagler Beach had a chance to see an unusual sight Monday morning: funnel clouds.
The National Weather Service said it received reports of "fair weather funnel clouds" off Flagler Beach. Officials also said the funnel clouds did not extend very far below the cloud bases.
"Basically, the National Weather Service is saying there were funnel clouds, but there was no threat for tornadoes or any severe weather," said WFTV meteorologist Rusty McCranie.
Viewer Rob Stiles tweeted pictures that showed a small funnel cloud in the sky.
Had a couple of funnel clouds that tried to form this morning at Flagler Beach. Sunrise pics coming later. Got some good ones. pic.twitter.com/pGsfKgbSxW
