Veterans Day deals: Businesses offering free food, services for vets

Several restaurants and businesses will offer free food and services to active, retired and inactive military veterans in honor of Veterans Day. Below is a sampling of some of the deals. Proof of military service such as a valid ID is required in most cases. Most restaurant deals are for dine-in only.

Starbucks will offer a free 12-ounce cup of brewed coffee for current and former military members and their spouses.

TGI Fridays will offer free lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Options include fresh salads, burgers and signature sandwiches. The offer also includes two lunch pairings.

Bob Evans will serve free all-you-can-eat hotcakes from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Chili's offers a free meal from a limited menu that includes lunch combo meal items and certain enchiladas, flat breads and other meals.

Olive Garden restaurants will offer a free entrée from a special menu of seven dishes. Options include smoked chicken mozzarella, chicken parmigiana, cheese ravioli and garlic rosemary chicken.

LongHorn Steakhouse will offer free Texas Tonion appetizer and nonalcoholic beverage.

Participating Denny's locations will offer a free Build Your Own Grand Slam from 5 a.m. to noon.

Red Robin Gourmet Burger offers veterans a free Red's Tavern Double Burger with Bottomless Steak Fries.

Ruby Tuesday offers a free appetizer.

Carrabba's Italian Grill offers a free appetizer.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store will offer a free Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake dessert.

Hooters is offering a free meal.

Krispy Kreme will offer a free doughnut and small coffee.

McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants will offer a free entree from a select menu.

O'Charley's will offer a free $9.99 entrée.

Red Lobster offers a free appetizer from a limited menu from Nov. 10 to Nov. 13.

Golden Corral will offer veterans a free buffet meal with a beverage from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17.
