Video: Robbery suspect crashes into Flagler County deputy, investigators say

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — A Flagler County deputy suffered a forearm and chest injury when a robbery suspect crashed into him, investigators said.

Jason Klokov, 37, of DeLand, is accused of robbing a Taco Bell in Palm Coast at 12:48 Wednesday morning, deputies said.

Klokov and his passenger gave a note to an employee at the Taco Bell that said, “Be quiet, open the register and hand me the cash drawer or I’ll shoot you. I have a gun. Hurry up, five seconds.”

No injuries were reported during the robbery.

Klokov’s vehicle was spotted in the McDonald’s parking lot on Old Kings Road, but he took off when he saw deputies, investigators said.

Klokov drove on Interstate 95 south where he exited onto US 1 and crashed into Deputy Craig Rossi’s vehicle.

Rossi’s airbags deployed and he suffered a forearm and chest injury, deputies said. The deputy is at home recovering from his injuries, investigators said.
