Video shows Daytona Beach commissioner in strip club before getting trespass warning

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — New video released by police shows Daytona Beach City Commissioner Carl Lentz inside Club Topic late Thursday night, just before police arrived and issued him a trespass warning.

Owners of the club accused Lentz of throwing a drink on an employee.

Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood said his department is also looking into accusations that sex was requested by Lentz in exchange for lighter policing of the strip club.

Club owners accused Lentz of threatening to have the club shut down. Lentz denied that when an officer questioned him.

"Did you make threats to call my chief of police at 2 o'clock in the morning?" an officer is heard asking Lentz on camera outside the club.

"Make threats of what?" Lentz replied.

"Of calling the chief of police," the officer said.

"Why would I ever do that?" asked Lentz.

Police said video from inside the club doesn't show Lentz doing anything illegal.

Lentz's attorney said his client denies any wrongdoing and was only at the club to discuss the potential sale of the property.

Investigators said they have passed their information along to the State Attorney's Office
